Supporting Independence Through Opportunity

Dear Friends of LifeROOTS,

As the seasons continue to shift, we are reminded that growth doesn’t always happen loudly. Sometimes it happens quietly—beneath the surface—through consistency, care, and connection.

Welcome to our quarterly update from LifeROOTS. Each season brings new opportunities to strengthen our programs, expand community partnerships, and create meaningful employment for the individuals we serve. In this issue, we share updates on our organizational focus, program progress, and the people who make our work possible.

Letter from the CEO

Building Forward at LifeROOTS

Over the past several years, LifeROOTS has been focused on strengthening our foundation so that we can continue serving our community well into the future. I am proud to say that the organization is now positioned to move forward with renewed focus, stability, and purpose.

As we look ahead, our priority is clear: to expand opportunities for the individuals and families we serve while continuing to build a strong and sustainable organization.

One of our core priorities remains expanding employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Our team continues to build relationships with employers across New Mexico who recognize the value of inclusive hiring. Meaningful employment provides not only financial independence but also confidence, dignity, and a deeper connection to the community.

We are also beginning to explore new partnerships that support both underserved youth and youth with extra needs across New Mexico. These early conversations are centered on how we can help young people gain exposure to work skills, career exploration, and future employment opportunities as they transition into adulthood. Expanding our reach in this area is an important step toward building stronger pathways to independence for the next generation.

At the same time, LifeROOTS continues to grow our commercial services division, pursuing new contracts and partnerships that strengthen the organization while creating stable employment opportunities for the individuals we support.

The progress we are seeing today reflects the dedication of our staff, partners, and community supporters. Together, we are building an organization that is not only meeting today’s needs but thoughtfully preparing for the opportunities ahead.

Thank you for being part of the LifeROOTS community and for supporting the work we do every day.

Organizational Focus and Programs

This season, we’ve been reflecting on what it means to stay rooted during times of uncertainty. Roots don’t rush—they anchor, nourish, and hold steady. We see this every day in the families, individuals, and donors who show up with openness and courage. Thank you for being part of a community that believes growth is possible when we grow together.

LifeROOTS in Action

This quarter, we witnessed moments that truly embody our mission:

Families finding space to pause, breathe, and reconnect

Individuals taking brave steps toward stability and healing

Donors offering support, compassion, and presence.

The employment team has expanded its services.  We now offer:

DVR Placement

Ticket to Work

Direct Placement

In addition, the employment team continues to serve our existing contracts and placements throughout the community.

Our Employment Services team is actively scaling operations and increasing intake capacity.  Supported by two full-time coaches and a manager focused on job development, we are firmly in growth mode.  Through expanded outreach and strengthened referral relationships, we are well positioned to take on new clients and drive measurable growth in placements.  Our focus is on converting outreach into consistent weekly placements.

Being a job coach means more than helping someone succeed at work, it’s about walking alongside them as they discover their strengths, build confidence, and overcome challenges. It’s about celebrating every milestone, empowering individuals to reach goals they once thought were out of reach, and witnessing the incredible growth that comes from encouragement and support. Every success, big or small, is a celebration of growth, perseverance, and the power of support.

Even after 20-plus years as a Job Developer/Job Coach, I’m constantly reminded of the difference guidance and belief can make in someone’s life.

One participant recently shared, “LifeROOTS gave me a place to feel supported without judgment. It reminded me I don’t have to do this alone.”

These moments are why we do what we do.

Our Focus This Quarter

Here’s what’s coming up at LifeROOTS:

Expanding Revenue Through New Opportunities
To ensure long-term sustainability, we are actively pursuing new revenue opportunities that align with our mission. This includes expanding services, developing new partnerships, and strengthening programs that create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Growth in Our Commercial Contract Division
Our commercial services division continues to grow as we pursue new contracts and expand existing partnerships. These opportunities not only strengthen our organization but also create stable employment for the individuals we support.

Building Stronger Employer Partnerships
Connecting individuals with disabilities to meaningful employment remains at the heart of our work. We are expanding relationships with local employers who value inclusive hiring and are committed to building workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and succeed.

Supporting New Mexico Youth
LifeROOTS is also exploring a program designed to support young people with disabilities as they transition into adulthood and the workforce. By developing new youth-focused initiatives, we aim to provide early exposure to work skills, career exploration, and pathways to independence.

A Strong Foundation for the Future
These efforts reflect our commitment to building an organization that is both mission-driven and sustainable. By strengthening programs, expanding partnerships, and creating new opportunities, LifeROOTS is positioned to continue serving our community for years to come.
