SPEECH THERAPY SERVICES

Our Mission

We provide developmental services that promote independence to underserved and extra needs populations through the cycle of their lives.

Our Vision

LifeROOTS enriches the entire community by nurturing individuals to grow, strengthen, and flourish.

Speech and communication are critical skills for children, and Early Intervention for children with speech and language delays often plays a key role in helping children reach important milestones when it comes to building vital communication skills.  There are various levels of speech therapy depending on a child’s individual needs – with some children only needing help with language skills, others needing more help on the mechanics of speech, and some needing more comprehensive services focusing on speech, language and swallowing.

At LifeROOTS, our experienced speech and language pathologists focus on improving a child’s speech and ability to understand and express language, which also includes nonverbal language.  In addition to treating articulation, language and cognitive issues, our speech therapists also help treat swallowing disorders that help in feeding issues.  Many children with developmental disabilities can benefit from speech therapy, with services often beginning at a young age and continuing as a child continues to achieve speech milestones and reach their fullest potential.  Our speech therapists work with children with a variety of delays and disorders, ranging from problems with articulation to more complex disorders such as autism, Down syndrome, hearing impairment, motor speech disorders, and other developmental delays.

Our speech therapy services include evaluations, consultations, working closely with parents and development of an individualized treatment plan for children with a wide range of communication disorders. Every child’s needs are unique, and a treatment program is designed to incorporate a number of specially designed services, addressing the following areas:

  • Articulation
  • Expressive language skills
  • Listening skills
  • Fluency of speech
  • Voice/resonance
  • Cognitive communication skills
  • Alternative communication
  • Swallowing/feeding issues
