Customers served (external and internal): all LifeROOTS participants and employees including Board of Directors. .   Although the external IT contractors are not customers the Internal IT personnel is expected to work closely with and communicate often with the external agents.

Role Summary:  A successful Internal IT must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems.

Principal Accountabilities: (essential job functions):

  1. Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices.
  2. Check computer hardware (monitors, mouse, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality.
  3. Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
  4. Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems or work closely with external IT specialist to resolve issues(repair or replace parts, debugging etc.).
  5. Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems. As well as support external IT specialist security endeavors.
  6. Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  7. Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  8. Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over the phone, email or in person.
  9. Record events and problems and their resolution in logs.
  10. Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  11. Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  12. Follow-up and update employee status and information.
  13. Pass on any feedback or suggestions by employee to the appropriate internal team.
  14. Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures.
  15. Identify computer or network equipment shortages and communicate them in written form to CEO and External IT specialists.
  16. Monitor technology and ensure its efficiency.
  17. Track and monitor all IT equipment for LifeROOTS, Inc.
  18. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.
  19. Responsible for participation in the company’s quality improvement program and ensures that all department-applicable quality improvement requirements are fulfilled.
  20. Responsible for participation in the company’s financial management and ensures that all department-applicable fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled.
  21. Responsible for participation in the company’s Health and Safety program and ensure that all department-applicable safety requirements are fulfilled.
  22. Complies with all applicable LifeROOTS policies and procedures.
